This blog post is part one of the “Officer Bio” series. We hope these bios will help you to know the members of the PRSSA Kent Executive Board on a more personal level.
Mark Mazzagatti
Officer Title: Secretary
Class Standing: Senior
Expected graduation date: December ‘08
Career Goals: To do something I love and am passionate about, specifically sports PR or music/entertainment PR. Failing that, I want to make some dough in a young professional environment…
Student Organizations/Volunteer Experience: PRSSA for three years, Alpha Tau Omega for four and a half years, Honors Community College for two years. I’ve volunteered for multiple organizations like Kent Social Services and Adopt a Highway, and for ATO I have organized/ran a philanthropy called Cornhole for a Cure for the last three years. With the fraternity’s help, we have raised over $1000 all three years and almost $2000 each of the last two years, all to help a member of the Kent State community who is battling cancer. Making a difference in someone’s battle against cancer (and literally facing death) is one of the things I am most proud of in my life. There’s nothing like giving someone a chance in their battle against a very terrible disease.
Hometown: Randolph, OH
Name one PRSSA experience you’ll always remember.
I loved the PRSSA National Conference in Detroit this year. I got to connect with some great contacts professionally, and who can forget (or maybe who can remember?) the trip to Canada. I got to bond with so many people and I had a blast every single day.
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
I wish I could slow down, stop and speed up time. There’s never enough time in the day, so if I could extend that, it would be pretty great. Other than that, I’d like to fly or maybe just have super speed, pretty much for the same reasons.
If you were on death row, what would you eat for your last meal?
A giant filet steak, cooked medium, with a side of pasta and pizza.

If a movie was created about your life, which actor or actress would play your role?
Robert DeNiro. He’s Italian and he’s completely awesome.
Where would you like to travel to in the future?
ITALY! Since I have some Italian heritage. But I would also love to see all of western Europe. I also wouldn’t mind living somewhere warm in the future… Ohio is so cold except for 5 months of the year.
